An email made the rounds this week. It pertained to saving gasoline or so it said. If we sent home 15 million illegal aliens that would be 15 million less people driving to work, to get a beer, to the post office to send money home. Now that’s a lot of gas to say nothing of the savings from less accidents after they got the beer… where none of them has insurance. But back to the question, can our government really get a Return On Investment where they spend our tax dollars? Usually they can’t unless they are paying a private service to supply telephone operators for a military installation. Protecting us is one of their few legitimate jobs… so this is a proper use of our tax dollars. Not sure, however, if there is a ROI involved, but let us look at one they could do. Insist that all unemployment compensation recipients and all able to work welfare recipients apply for work through private sector employment services, with the government paying when they found suitable employment for them. Employers would love it, since they would not have to pay a fee for hiring such persons and in time it would reduce the amount of UC taxes they would have to pay. The employment services would also love it since they would not have to charge the employer. And the job seekers would love the free help they would get in finding suitable employment. The return on the investment could run into the hundreds of percents since the employment services would guarantee that the job would last or they would return 1% of their fee for any days worked under 100 i.e. work ten days, government gets back 90% of fee paid. An added benefit might be that some people who already had a job (no! you mean people really do that?) or didn’t want to work would refuse the job and be taken off the rolls. Now why would any sane person not think that was a good investment of our tax dollars? I’ll bet you are trying to think of some “what if’s” right now… but there aren’t any since it has been done in the past with great success.

WHERE DOES OUR TAX $ GO?
Fox News reported that a Judge in NY threw out a firefighters test because most of the questions had nothing to do with their skills needed for the job. Upshot being, he felt minorities were being discriminated against again. While as an employer of thousands and a representative of employers of millions I could question the validity of his ruling, my use of this example is to, in this period of high unemployment, ask could not our use of government money (read our money) be better spent. Some attorney, most likely using public funds (surely not his own money) had to find a judge who would listen to his prattle and regardless of the inanity of it rule against the test. When a year ago another simple minded Judge, upheld allowing those same minority firefighters who had failed tests on their knowledge of firefighting to be promoted over those who had passed the test with flying colors... all based on color, of course. Our courts are jammed with frivolous law suits, causing the judges to clamor for more judges to help with cases like this that should be thrown out at first blush. A good example of misuse of the courts is what they did in Alaska to the Governor causing the state to spend unconscionable amounts of staff time and money in attempting to deal with them. While at the same time Congress exempts itself from lawsuits (Thinking of Weiner's Weiner) saying it can police itself. You can laugh now. The only people who benefit from such foolishness are the attorneys, judges, their staffs and the incompetents who desire a job for life without preparing for it. They are the ones who should be replacing the illegal aliens who are working at jobs, making a living and sending money home.

Increased Jobs Decreased Workers
INCREASED JOBS DECREASED WORKERS?
The Obama administration keeps bragging that they have created hundreds of thousands of jobs with the intimation that the number is even higher. How can this be or shall we say how can any press worth it’s salt accept such a blatant falsehood. Sending money to states to keep policemen, firemen and teachers employed, when the state can’t afford to do so is not “creating jobs”. It is robbing Peter to pay Paul. Oh, and hiring tens of thousands of more high paid government employees is not creating jobs… it is creating havoc with our finances. Real jobs are those in the private sector that give a return on the investment in them i.e. Jobs that produce things that are bought by companies or individuals. USA Today, April 14, 2011 had a headline that read, Percent Working lowest since ’83. So how can the government be creating more jobs when we now have less people working. Isn’t anyone at ABC, CNN, CBS, PBS, etc. awake? Are they so in love with keeping Obama as President that they will parrot without question anything that he or his minions will say. Let us pray that the so called swing vote independents will have enough intelligence to see through the constant smoke screen being laid down by this Obamanation of an administration.
